Wafi Hussain Assad Hassan, MD

Hassan Wafi, MD, is a physician and graduate of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Casablanca, Hassan II University, Morocco, where he completed the Moroccan medical curriculum, an integrated 8-year medical training program that does not distinguish between undergraduate and graduate medical education. He successfully completed the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 1 and Step 2. He is currently an Internal Medicine resident at the Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Dr. Wafi has been actively involved in clinical care, medical education, and community service initiatives. He has participated in multidisciplinary medical caravans serving underserved rural communities in Morocco, helping provide essential medical care to hundreds of patients. He has also worked as an emergency physician in Morocco for seven months, providing home consultations and participating in ambulance transports. In addition, he worked in telemedicine, providing telehealth medical consultations to travelers visiting Morocco from abroad. His experiences in both academic medicine and community outreach have strengthened his interest in Internal Medicine and patient-centered care. His clinical and academic interests include Internal Medicine, medical education, global health, healthcare equity, and underserved populations. He also has a strong interest in mentorship, residency training, and cross-cultural medical practice.
