Biography

Serena Karlov, MD, is a resident physician in the Psychiatry Residency Program at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Western Michigan University in 2022, graduating summa cum laude with a minor in Chemistry. She then pursued her Doctor of Medicine degree at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine, completing it in 2026. Throughout her academic and professional journey, Dr. Karlov has remained dedicated to supporting underserved communities in the Kalamazoo area. Her clinical and research interests include geriatric psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, contributing to medical education, increasing accessibility to mental health care, and preventing burnout in medicine.
