Biography

Biography

Jon Walsh, MD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. He is also an assistant professor in the Department of Surgery and a full time Trauma/Critical Care Surgeon at Bronson Hospital.

Dr. Walsh is a graduate of Dalhousie University Faculty of Arts and Sciences in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He earned his medical degree from Dalhousie University Faculty of Medicine, also in Halifax. He completed a residency in general surgery at San Joaquin General Hospital in Stockton, California and at University of California-San Diego.

Dr. Walsh also served for three years as a research fellow with the National Institute of Health in both surgery and trauma and burn research. He is board certified in both surgery and clinical informatics.

Dr. Walsh’s research interests are in trauma and surgical critical care, as well as using health data to answer clinical questions in patient care.
