Gretchen Barnas, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist with Borgess Behavioral Health. She specializes in inpatient psychiatry.
Dr. Barnas holds membership in the American Psychiatric Association, Michigan Psychiatric Society and the American Medical Association. Prior to working for Borgess, she was with the Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pennsylvania, where she was attending psychiatrist for adult inpatient and psychiatric emergency services and served on the peer review committee. She also formerly held the position of outpatient psychiatrist with the South Haven Health System in South Haven, Michigan, and was chief psychiatry resident in the Department of Psychiatry at Michigan State University where she lectured MSU medical students while on their psychiatry rotation and was co-coordinator of medical student didactics.
Dr. Barnas received her doctorate of medicine from the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. She also earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and English with honors from Albion College in Albion, Michigan.
