Ogochukwu Chioma, MBBS

Ogochukwu Chioma, MD, is a family physician resident. She is a graduate of College of Health Sciences Ebonyi state University Abakaliki, Nigeria where she completed and obtained her medical degree. Furthermore, she proceeded to work as a volunteer Physician in a rural missionary hospital and was involved in community development and patient care advocacy and has gained multiple clinical skills working in different settings, both rural, urban and suburban area. She had a residence training back in her home country, Nigeria which sharpened her clinical skills where she served as chief resident and was involved in teaching medical students, exchange students and junior residents, working with attendants to ensure appropriate schedule and rotations are made for the students and residents at the same time meeting up with the clinical roles. Transitioning to US, she worked as a clinical assistant in a fast-paced family practice in the Bronx which solidified her passion to be a family physician. Furthermore, she obtained the New-York limited Physician license which enabled her to work as a physician under the direct supervision of attending both in nursing home and assisted living. Also, as a House Physician in Wyckoff Hospital, Brooklyn providing both inpatient and outpatient care to underserved population in Brooklyn, New York. She is currently a family medicine resident at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine, Battle creek.
