Biography

Anna Sampson, DO, is a resident physician in the Psychiatry Residency Program at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Wayne State University in 2021, graduating magna cum laude with minors in Health Psychology and Biology. She then pursued her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, completing it in 2025. Throughout her academic and professional journey, Dr. Sampson has remained dedicated to supporting underserved communities across Michigan through research, volunteer work, and clinical care. She looks forward to continuing this work as part of the MIDocs program, focusing on advancing mental health equity and providing compassionate, accessible psychiatric care throughout the state. Her clinical and research interests include psychosis, mental health care for incarcerated populations, reproductive mental health, cultural psychiatry, and contributing to medical education.
