Biography
Dr. Melder is a native of Texas. He obtained undergraduate degrees in biology and chemistry at Houston Baptist University in Houston, Tx. Dr. Melder attended medical school at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, TX. After graduating Dr. Melder completed a surgical internship at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, TX and then complete his Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. After training, Dr. Melder became a staff surgeon at Walter Reed and an associate program director the National Capital Consortium Otolaryngology Training Program. Dr. Melder later became Chief, Otolaryngology at Walter Reed. Dr. Melder served on active duty for 13 years and left active duty to pursue a private practice career. He later obtained additional board certification in Sleep Medicine. Dr. Melder is a serial entrepreneur. As an entrepreneur he has invented, developed, marketed and sold products and has successfully raised millions of dollars in the process. He has consulted with and licensed medical device technologies to top-tier medical device companies.
