Biography

Nishani Samaraweera, PhD, received her undergraduate degree at the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka and PhD in clinical psychology at Western Michigan University. She currently works as a psychologist at Sandra Bowker and Associates, doing a combination of psychological assessments and psychotherapy. Prior to that she was a psychologist at Ascension Borgess Delano Clinic, providing psychological services to adults and children presenting with a range of mental health needs. A generalist in terms of clinical practice, she is interested in issues of trauma and vulnerable populations. As a part time instructor, she taught undergraduate students at Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
