Biography

Ian Thomas, MD, MSc, RMSK, RSCC, CSCS is an assistant professor at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the University of Toledo, where he received his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees respectively. He completed his medical training at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and completed his residency training at Mercy Lighthouse Family Medicine Residency. Afterward, Dr. Thomas completed his sports medicine fellowship at Harvard Boston Children's Hospital. Dr. Thomas serves as the chair of Inteleos POCUS Certification Academy Assessment Council, lead instructor of the Global Ultrasound Institute and ad hoc faculty of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. His clinical, teaching and research interest include point-of-care ultrasound, diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, regenerative medicine, interventional orthopedics and sonosurgical techniques.
