Biography

Biography

Hanna Sorensen, MD, is a resident physician in the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati with her BS in Chemistry, summa cum laude. At Cincinnati, her research focus ranged from nanotechnology to musculoskeletal physiology. Hanna then earned her medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Throughout medical school, Dr. Sorensen conducted research within the field of Orthopaedics, with special interests in the areas of tendon biomechanics and musculoskeletal infection. She additionally worked with the Division of Anatomy, serving as an anatomy outreach leader with goals to increase anatomy education and awareness to the community. In her clinical years of medical school, Hanna was inducted into both the AOA medical honors society and the Landacre Research Honors Society. Hanna hopes to continue basic science research, participate in medical education, and engage in mentorship during her time at WMed.
