Biography
Biography
Stephanie Tafakji, DO, is a resident physician in the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. Originally from Southern California, Dr. Tafakji received her undergraduate degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona before moving on to complete her doctorate of osteopathic medicine at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. Prior to medical school, Dr. Tafakji worked as an EMT, ocean lifeguard, and high school biology teacher and she currently volunteers as a ski patroller. Her clinical, teaching, and research interests include wilderness medicine, sports medicine, EMS and global health. When she’s not in the hospital, she enjoys swimming, surfing, fishing, hiking, snowboarding, golf, cooking, reading, traveling and playing with her three dogs.
