Biography
Biography
Donald Porter attended Albion College in Albion, Michigan from 1967 to 1971. He graduated with an AB degree in chemistry and biology. He attended the University of Michigan Medical School from 1971 to 1975 and earned the degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD). He did a straight surgical residency through the Wayne State University Affiliated Hospitals from 1975 to 1980. He was board certified after residency and has continued to maintain board certification to the present. In 1980 Dr. Porter affiliated with another general surgeon and began his full time private practice in St Johns, Michigan. He became employed by the hospital in St Johns now known as Sparrow Clinton. He has staff privileges at Sparrow Clinton and Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. He provides intermittent call coverage and surgical assistance at Sparrow Clinton when requested. At Bronson Methodist Hospital he is scheduled several times a month for the acute care surgery service.
