Biography
Biography
Janet Mindes, PhD received her B.A. from Harvard University and Ph.D. in experimental psychology/neuroscience from New York University. She is an independent researcher, educator, writer, editor with more than thirty years' experience, focusing since 1998 on research and education in integrative medicine (IM) for the brain, neuropsychiatric conditions and healthy aging, at Columbia College of P&S and elsewhere. Dr. Mindes taught psychology, statistics, and Western science of acupuncture; conducted diverse psychological and integrative medicine research, some funded by NIH; mentored medical, doctoral and undergraduate students. Dr. Mindes co-edited/authored Integrative Sexual Health, OUP, 2018, and is co-writing the lay version. As of November 2022, Dr. Mindes is collaborating with Ramona Wallace, DO, of W Med, to analyze and publish data from Dr. Wallace’s community medicine nutritional database and functional medicine nutrition curricula for residents.
