Kelsey Sheets, MD, is a resident physician in the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She graduated from the University of Iowa with her BA in Classical Languages in 2015. The University of Iowa is also where Dr. Sheets earned her medical degree in 2020.
Throughout medical school, Dr. Sheets conducted research on women's health and access to healthcare in Eastern Iowa. She additionally worked with survivors of domestic violence, volunteered as a student medical examiner for a local free medical clinic, and served on the board of directors for a non-profit women's health clinic for three years, the final year in the capacity of vice chair of the clinic.
In 2019, Dr. Sheets was awarded the John's Hopkins Diversity Scholarship in Orthopaedic Surgery and was inducted into the AOA medical honors society. Her research and clinical interests include access to healthcare for underserved populations and diversity in the workplace.
