Gina Bravata, MD, is an obstetrics and gynecology physician. She completed her residency on Obstetrics and Gynecology at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine (WMed) in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She is a graduate of Kalamazoo College, and earned her medical degree from WMed.
While in medical school she became an Arcus Center for Social Justice Leadership Fellow and received the United States Public Health Service Award for her work in curriculum development and student-physician advocacy regarding the effects of implicit bias, social determinants of health, and systemic racism on health equity. She is a member of the Golden Humanism Honors Society, a national society identifying teachers, advocates, and leaders in healthcare who promote compassion, service, and patient centered care throughout their carriers. Her clinical, teaching, and research interests include health equity, student/physician advocacy, and racial disparities in infant mortality.
