Biography
Biography
Shamsi Berry, PhD, MS, CPHI, received her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Davis in anthropology. She completed her PhD in anthropology, postdoctoral fellowship in biomedical informatics, and masters in biomedical science at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, New Mexico. She also completed a graduate certificate in biomedical informatics from Oregon Health and Science University, Portland, Oregon. Her research focus lies at the intersection of anthropology and informatics. She focuses on data standards, natural language processing, text mining, and databases using data from the medical examiners office. She was the biomedical consultant on the New Mexico Decedent Image Database.
