Biography

Biography

Michael Bloom, PhD, is a psychologist. He is a graduate of the Wright Institute, Berkeley, California. He completed his internship at California Pacific Medical Center, San Francisco. He has received advanced training in family therapy as well as health psychology, particularly pain management. He served on the faculty of the University of South Dakota School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry. Six years later he joined the Sioux Falls Family Medicine Residency Program as the Director of Behavioral Science, while also being Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of South Dakota School of Medicine. During his forty year tenure at the University of South Dakota, he wrote three books including Brief Mental Health Interventions for the Family Physician, co-authored with David Smith, M.D.
