Karen Freshwater, PA-C, is a board-certified physician's assistant with Bronson Neuroscience Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri. She earned a master's degree in medicine from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
After completing her degree as a physician assistant, Ms. Freshwater started work at Bronson, where she specializes in movement disorders and multiple sclerosis. She is involved in the community through her volunteer work facilitating the Kalamazoo area Parkinson's disease support group, co-facilitating the Kalamazoo multiple sclerosis support group, sitting on the advisory board for the Michigan Parkinson Foundation, and working on the Quality Measures Committee of the American Academy of Neurology.
Prior to her role as a physician assistant, Ms. Freshwater worked in research and development doing preclinical toxicology, first with Bayer Corporation, Stilwell, Kansas, and then Pharmacia/Pfizer, Kalamazoo, Michigan.
