Sally VanSweden, MD, is a board-certified hospitalist physician with Bronson Healthcare Group. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She attended medical school at Southern Illinois University. She completed a combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics program with Michigan State University/Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
After graduation, Dr. VanSweden practiced at a primary care office offering combined internal medicine and pediatrics. She practiced at a critical access hospital working with other internists to develop a then new concept of hospitalist practice. After six years of combined inpatient and outpatient practice in a rural setting, she transitioned to working full time as a dedicated hospitalist physician. She helped to develop a large inpatient team at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI.
Dr. VanSweden currently serves on the leadership team of her group practice. She has served on the Infection Prevention Committee, Patient Safety Committee and System Service Council at Bronson Methodist Hospital.
