Kelly Becker, FNP-BC, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. Kelly draws on her personal experience with obesity and neurodiversity to provide a safe, collaborative environment for her patients and their families. After graduating from Western Michigan University with her BSN in 2001, Kelly spent over a decade in critical care, working bedside before serving as outcomes specialist. These years provided a strong foundation for evidence-based clinical decision making within a framework for continuous quality improvement. Kelly has been a board-certified family nurse practitioner since graduating from Grand Valley State University in 2011. She worked as a hospitalist NP and with the rapid response team before focusing on cardiometabolic/obesity medicine in the outpatient setting. Kelly moved to Beaver Island at the height of the pandemic. There she worked for the rural health center, providing primary, urgent, and palliative care to island residents and visitors. Since late 2022, Kelly has expanded her professional experience to clinical research. She has supported sponsored as well as investigator-initiated studies as a sub-investigator/clinical research coordinator at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker MD School of Medicine.
