Laura Bollman, MLIS, has trained as a health science librarian at multiple community colleges where she worked closely with nursing and allied health programs. She made the move to hospital librarianship before returning to the community college environment after the Covid pandemic. The interactions with Medicaid applicants, students, patients and their family members lead to an interest in how the Information Poverty Theory affects health literacy. Ms. Bollman is an officer with her local library’s board of trustees and has been appointed to multiple scholarship juries with the Medical Library Association.
