Biography

Biography

Stacy French, PhD, received his associate’s degree at Kalamazoo Valley Community College in fire science. He completed his undergraduate degree in Public Service Administration and his master’s degree in organizational leadership at Siena Heights University. He completed his PhD in Interdisciplinary Evaluation at the Western Michigan University. For the past 18 years, while completing his schooling, he has been with the City of Portage serving in the ranks as a Firefighter, Training Officer and currently as the Assistant Fire Chief. He currently oversees the operations of the fire department including the evaluation of services for department credentialing and performance measures. In addition to the instruction provided during his tenure as the department Training Officer, he also providing instruction and curriculum development in the programs of Homeland Security, Emergency Management and Organizational Leadership for the Graduate College at Siena Heights University. Currently, Dr. French is working with Kalamazoo County Medical Control providing research and evaluation for improvement of emergency services in the areas of; call processing, response criteria and bench-marking for emergency treatment within Kalamazoo County.
