Biography

Gregory Vanden Heuvel, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences of Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Dr. Vanden Heuvel is a graduate of Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. He earned a master's degree in biological sciences from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He earned his doctorate in cell biology from University of Alabama at Birmingham in Birmingham, Alabama. He also completed a fellowship in developmental nephrology at Yale University School of Medicine.

Dr. Vanden Heuvel has extensive experience in teaching and developing curricula and education materials for medical students. He has research interests in the area of transcriptional regulation of kidney development.
