Maureen Ford, MD, is a board-certified emergency medicine and addiction medicine physician with Southwestern Michigan Emergency Services practicing in Bronson Emergency Departments. She is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at WMed. She practices addiction medicine at WMed Family Medicine Crosstown Parkway. She is a graduate of the Lee Honors College at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She earned her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan. She completed her emergency medicine residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan and obtained addiction medicine certification through the practice pathway with the support of the Michigan Collaborative Addiction Resources & Education System (MI-CARES) program.
Dr. Ford's professional interests include improving care for patients with substance use disorders in EDs and hospitals by supporting care teams through education, evidence-based protocol development and establishing partnerships for continued care in the community after discharge. She also served for eight years in elected office as a member of the Mattawan Consolidated School Board of Education.
