Biography

Maureen Ford, MD, is a board-certified emergency medicine physician with Southwestern Michigan Emergency Services practicing in Bronson Emergency Departments. She is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at WMed. She is board eligible in Addiction Medicine via the practice pathway, and provides addiction medicine services at WMed Family Medicine Crosstown Parkway. She is a graduate of the Lee Honors College at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She earned her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan. She completed her emergency medicine residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. 

Dr. Ford's professional interests include improving care for patients with substance use disorder in EDs and hospitals by supporting care teams through education, evidence-based protocol development and establishing partnerships for continued care in the community after discharge. She also served for eight years in elected office as a member of the Mattawan Consolidated School Board of Education.
