Biography

Glenn Ekblad, DO, is a board-certified emergency medicine physician. He is a graduate of the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah, and also served in the United States Army in Vietnam, interrupting his schoolwork to do so. After earning bachelor's degrees in psychology and nursing, he then received a masters of science in nursing with a focus on psychiatric nursing from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.

After completing the flight surgeon program at Brooks Air Force Base, Dr. Ekblad served as a flight surgeon in the United States Airforce Reserve for 26 years. During this time, he earned his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan, and completed a residency in anesthesiology at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Ekblad previously served as Medical Director for Critical Care Air Transport System at West Michigan AirCare. In addition to his board certification in emergency medicine, he also has a board certification in emergency medical services, and is one of the faculty for the EMS fellowship at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine.
