Biography

Marlin (Amy) Halder, M.D. is a resident physician in the Family Medicine Residency Program - Kalamazoo at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois-Chicago, as part of the Honors College, where she earned departmental distinction in Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience. Prior to attending medical school, Amy worked as a Research Assistant in Pancreatic Cancer and Interventional Cardiology projects. She moved to Rochester Hills, Michigan, to complete her medical training at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. During medical school, she was involved with Street Medicine and Gary Burnstein Student-Run Free Clinic in Oakland County. Her research includes working with polio survivors and studying post-polio syndrome, with mentor Tracey Taylor, Ph.D. Dr. Halder's clinical interests include mental & women's health, clinical ethics, global & refugee health, community medicine, and medical education. Her service interests include rural and underserved populations. Dr. Halder, who was born and raised in Bangladesh, is bilingual in both English and Bangla, and has a working understanding of Hindi and Spanish languages.
