Biography

George Seifert, MD, is a board-certified family physician with Bronson Family Medicine-Shaffer Street in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He graduated from Kalamazoo College in 1983 with a bachelor's degree in chemistry. He earned his medical degree from Wayne State University Medical School in Detroit, Michigan, in 1983. He then completed his residency in family practice with University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 1987. After residency, Dr. Seifert joined the Marsho Medical Group in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He returned to Michigan in 1999, joining first the Marshall Medical Group and then Marshall Internal and Family Medicine, both of Marshall, Michigan; the latter group joined Oaklawn Hospital to form the Oaklawn Medical Group in 2003. He started practice in Kalamazoo in 2018 when he joined Bronson Medical Group.

While in Marshall, Dr. Seifert served in several leadership positions including Chief of Obstetrics and Pediatrics, Chief of Medicine, and Chief of Staff for Oaklawn Hospital. He also served on a variety of Oaklawn Hospital's committees, including the Pediatric Safety Committee, the Clinical Advisory Committee, the Utilization Control Committee, and the EMR Advisory Committee. He was the lead Primary Care Physician for the roll-out of a new EMR, Athena. While in private practice, he has been involved in teaching PA and NP students. Together with his wife Sherri, who has a Masters Degree in Social Work, he developed a two-week residential externship for Pre-Medical students from Kalamazoo College.
