Biography

Alok Dash, MD, is a Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Dr. Dash is board-certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery and General Surgery. He completed his undergraduate studies with a BS in Biology at The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. He earned his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, Virginia. After medical school, he engaged in a 2 year clinical research fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at VCU. He then completed both his General Surgery and Thoracic Surgery Residency at Penn State Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He received advanced training in aortic surgery and adult cardiac surgery at the Cleveland Clinic before becoming a staff cardiac surgeon. His clinical interests include: aortic diseases, including aneurysms and dissections; valve disease; and medical education.
