Biography

Biography

A native of Southwestern Michigan, Dr. Smetts received his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Chicago and medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine. He completed his internship with Grand Rapids Medical Education Partners. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology as well as a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University of Cincinnati. Interventional oncology, hepatobiliary interventions, and vertebral augmentation are of particular interest to him. Dr. Smetts has had presentations accepted at the annual meetings of the Society of Interventional Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, as well as the Symposium on Clinical Interventional Oncology. Dr. SmettsÂ’ professional memberships include the Radiological Society of North America, the American College of Radiology and the Society of Interventional Radiology. He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology.
