Biography

Stephanie Somers, MD, is a pediatrician. She graduated cum laude from DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana with a B.A. in Zoology. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Honduras, specializing in fisheries. Following her volunteer service she graduated from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her Pediatrics Residency and an additional year as Chief Resident in Pediatrics at the University Hospital and Clinics of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She joined Trestlewood Pediatrics, a private pediatric practice located in Portage, Michigan, in 1997 where she continues to practice as a general pediatrician. Dr. Somers has special interest in international adoption and adolescent health. She has served as Clinical Assistant Professor for the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and is affiliated with Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
